When you choose clothing made from Organic Cotton, you can save water, carbon emissions and energy. It may not appear to have a large impact but if you assess your and your baby's wardrobe, you will see how quickly the cumulative savings add up.
From fiber to finishing, we’re much more than just about clothes. We are committed to making Inchworm Alley a conscious, feel-good venture where environmental sustainability is the guiding principle that directs our actions.
We have chosen to use GOTS Certified Organic Cotton because it is the bomb. Sustainable, renewable and biodegradable, it is grown using methods and materials that have a low impact on the environment. Organic production systems replenish and maintain soil fertility, reduce the use of toxic and persistent pesticides and fertilizers, and build biologically diverse agriculture.
Our dyes are eco-friendly, low-impact and fiber-reactive too. They bind and become one with the fibers of the fabric, rather than simply sitting on the surface. The result? 100% colourfast, fade-resistant styles that are safe to have against babies‘ tender, young skin.
By taking a Zero-Waste approach to design, we also ensure any nominal surplus fabric is made into rugs or used as filling for quilted blankets, rather than ending up in the landfill. Even waste water from the production process is treated on-site and used to water the courtyard gardens, where our team lunches and takes chai breaks.
Nestled among vast farm fields in the Haryana countryside, our workshop conditions are spacious, safe and fastidiously clean. A sign on the courtyard gate silently proclaims this space to be child labour and sweatshop-free.
Closest to our hearts is the fact that workers receive a living wage, vacation time and holidays. Not because fair labour practices are a nice idea but because that is what all families deserve. These are all things we strongly get behind and we know you do too.
